Q. When are tryouts?
   A. Papillion Select Baseball hold annual try-outs sessions in July for the upcoming years teams.

Q. Who can tryout?
   A. We can and have accepted players from all over the Metro area but our bylaws require that the make up of each team consist of no less than 80% Papillion/LaVista School District residents.

Q. How do you determine to which age group a player belongs?
   A. Players age on April 30 is the lowest age group they can play. Players can tryout for older teams if they wish. So a player who is 10 on April 30, 2018 can tryout for the the 10s team or the 11s team but not the 9s team.

Q. What are the costs?
   A. The registration fee is subject to change each year but for the 2018 season will be $700. In addition to the registration fee each player is expected help with fundraising. There are sometimes other  miscellaneous costs which vary by team (out of town tournament, indoor practice facilities, etc...) so please contact your coach to discuss any questions about those.

Q. How does the fundraising work?
   A. There are multiple fundraising programs each year: our banner program - sponsor choose 1 of 3 levels of support to buy advertising space on vinyl banners which are hung on the back each teams dugout during games through the season. Another fundraising mainstay is our friends and family program that allows individuals to contribute support at whatever level they wish.

Q. When and where are the games?
   A. This will vary by team, so see your coach for specifics but most teams plan at least one out of town tournament so the teams can compete with teams outside our local area. Other than tournaments most games are played in the Omaha- Lincoln -Council Bluffs areas.

Q. How long is the season?
   A. This varies by team so see your coach for specifics but in general most teams begin indoors practices by Early to  Mid-January and games will typically begin end of March or beginning of April with most teams wrapping up their seasons in early July.
