Q. Who can signup to play?
A. We can and have accepted players from all over the Metro area but our bylaws require that the makeup of each team consist of no less than 80% Papillion/La Vista School District residents.

Q. How are teams formed and what are Skill Assessments?
A. PRO Papillion Softball forms it 8u Teams by schools and player/friend requests. We conduct Skill Assessment sessions to form 10U, 12U, 14U, and 18U Teams. This allows us to field teams that are talent balanced and able to compete with every team in our league. During these Skill Assessment sessions each player is scored on 5 basic softball skills. These scores are used in the drafting of team players.

Q. When are Skill Assessment sessions?

10U Players - 9AM Saturday, March 24th at La Vista Jr. High School
12U Players - 11AM Saturday, March 24th at La Vista Jr. High School
14U Players - 1PM Saturday, March 24th at La Vista Jr. High School
18U Players - 1PM Saturday, March 24th at La Vista Jr. High School

Q. How do you determine to which age group a player belongs in?
A. The player's age on January 1st of the year of the spring season is the lowest age group the player can participate in.

Q. Can my player play in an older age group?
A. Players may be permitted to play in an older age group depending on their Skill Assessment scores. Players who are interested in playing in an older age group must attend the Skill Assessment session and declare their desire to play up before the Skill Assessment session.

Q. What is the player participation rule?
A. In general each player should play at least half of the total season innings they are present for. Some games may not allow for every player to play half of the innings in that game, but Coaches should balance that out in the following games.

Q. What position will my player play?
A. Players will be encouraged to try any positions that they want to try and play. Players may also be asked by their coach to play additional positions that they may be good at based on their athletic skill.

Q. How much does it cost to play?
A. The Recreational Softball player registration fee is subject to change each year, but for the 2011 season it is 8U - $60, 10U - $80, 12U - $80, 14U - $80, 18U - $105. There is also a Resident and Non-resident fee which we are required to collect and pay to City of Papillion.

Q. What are the Resident/Non-resident Fees?
A. The Resident / Non-resident Fees are fees that each player is required to pay to the City of Papillion for using the City of Papillion athletic fields. The Resident Fee is $2 and the Non-resident Fee is $10. These fees are used by the City of Papillion to make improvements to the City athletic fields.

Q. When does the season start and finish?
A. The spring season runs from April 1st until the July 2nd. Practices will start the Monday after the Skill Assessment sessions are concluded. Pre-season games will start in the middle of April and regular season games will start at the end of April. All spring season activities will be concluded prior to July 4th weekend. There are the opportunities for some players to participate in post season tournaments during the month of July.

A. Our teams participate in the Omaha Rainbow League. We play games throughout the Omaha metro area. Predominately our games are played at:

Omaha - Dill Softball Complex, Seymour Smith Park Softball Complex, Dodge Park Softball Complex
Gretna - Gretna High School Softball Fields, Gretna Softball Fields

Q. What equipment is needed?
A. PRO Softball provides player uniforms and some softball team equipment. Players are required to supply their own basic softball equipment. For more details please see our Player Equipment page on the Softball web site.

Q. How do I register my player?
A. Log into your NGIN Account using your User Name / Emaill Address and Password that you specified when you built your account. Click on the Registration button at the top of the screen and then on Softball in the left-hand side of the web page under the Registration Hheading. When the Softball Registration information page appears click on the Register link. Once the registration form loads follow the instructions and provide the required information (items marked with *).

Q. How do I build my NGIN account?
A. You must create an NGIN account to resgister, or claim, your player(s) for PRO sports. Your NGIN account is used to register your player for Softball and all other PRO sports they participate in each season. Below are the steps required to build your NGIN account.
