On November 7, 2017 the City Council had the final vote to move forward with the construction of the Community Center & Field House located at Lincoln Street and Cheyenne Drive. It has been a long time coming.
Lincoln Street between 84th & 96th will be completely open before Thanksgiving according to City officials.
PRO will be a primary user of these new facilities.
The Field House will be the first building constructed with an estimated completion date of November 2018. Features include:
The Community Center has an estimated completion date of November 2019. PRO is excited about the Gymnasium with 3 full-size basketball courts/6 volleyball courts along with other amenities.
There will also be constructing a full sized outdoor synthetic turf soccer field with lights and natural bowl seating.
The PRO Board and its sports leadership will be working closely with the City to maximize this opportunity for youth sports.
Plan on attending the Annual Members Meeting on Thursday, January 18 at 7:00. Mayor Black and Parks & Recreation staff along with representative from the architect firm will be there to review the project and answer questions. More details to come.
The City of Papillion is searching for a unique name for its new community center and field house. The City invites Papillion area residents to submit their original naming ideas for the facility for consideration by the City Council. One name submission is allowed per person. Name submissions will be accepted through Dec. 8.
